How to Transform Your Garden

–
A garden can either be your personal paradise or a hell of unfinished jobs. If you don’t have a green thumb or live and breathe bedding plants and trowels, then it’s probably the latter. We’ve put our heads together and come up with some quick gardening tips and chosen some stylish garden additions to turn your outdoor space from ghastly into gorgeous.

Are Weeds Ruling Your Garden?
Weeds are every garden’s worst nightmare. They spread like a virus and damage the ecosystem of your garden by sapping valuable nutrients from nearby plants. You probably think they’re hard to get rid of but you’ll soon change your mind when we tell you how easy it to exterminate these pests. You don’t need to pull your back trying to get them out, or spend lots of time and money on toxic weed killers that are harming the rest of your garden. Instead, all you need is a black plastic bin bag and something to weigh it down, just put this over your weeds and leave it long enough to kill them. The bin bag stops the sunlight reaching your weeds causing them to become deprived and die, allowing your greenery to flourish without their nutrition being, quite literally, stolen from right beneath them.

Refresh Your Decking or Patio
If you’ve got decking or a patio in your garden, you know how amazing that first day was when you had it done. It looked so fresh and clean, but over time as the elements have battered away at it, it now looks dull and sad. There’s a couple of ways that you can spruce up your outdoor surfaces; the first is the easiest way, which is with a pressure washer. This will lift up dirt and leave both decking and patio looking brand new with very little effort. Another method that you can utilise is by using a hose or bucket and broom. Start by wetting the surface with your hose or bucket, then agitate the patio or decking surface with the broom (for decking apply less pressure so you don’t damage the wood) and wash the dirt away with clean water leaving it looking spotless. If you have decking and the colour has faded away, you can give it a new lease of life with a simple-to-apply decking stain. A little change can make a big difference! Finish it off with a rattan, wooden or metal seating area to create a serene and tranquil social environment.

Add Splashes of Colour
Colour can lift the atmosphere in your garden, turning it from dark and dingy to bright and beautiful. Flowers are the best way to do this as they smell great, look fantastic, and offer bees and butterflies nectar to get them enjoying your garden with you. If you haven’t got a big space for planting flowers, you can put up hanging baskets to free up your floor space. We also have a selection of potting benches, planters and plant stands which will help you bring nature into your garden without taking up too much space.

Clear Up Clutter
Clutter in your garden is one of the biggest causes of an uninspiring view. Spades, trowels, and other gardening equipment aren’t the most attractive things to display, so why not provide a storage box or tool shed to keep them out of the way and out of sight. A durable polypropylene storage box would be ideal for storing your children’s outdoor toys and play sets when they aren’t being used. Accompany this with a tool shed to store your gardening equipment and make your garden look spotless for your next party.

Realistic Artificial Flowers for Little Maintenance
Nothing will ever beat the real thing, but not all of us have the free time to keep up with the maintenance that goes into keeping fresh flowers bright, vibrant, and most importantly, alive. This is where artificial plants come into play, especially when they look as good as the real thing. They require little to no maintenance and look great all year round; all you need to do is give them a clean every now and then to keep them looking their best.

Shelters for Added Aesthetic
If you feel like you’re missing something in your garden but can’t quite put your finger on it, chances are that a shelter could be that missing piece. Often overlooked as they’re thought of as a novelty rather than a necessity, parasols, shade sails and permanent gazebos offer benefits to your healthy lifestyle as well as your garden’s visual appeal. They offer a shaded space away from harmful UV rays that are damaging to skin, allowing you to safely enjoy the fresh air and outdoors. If you only want a temporary shelter for a party, then opt for a pop-up gazebo. They’re easy to put up and take down, making them perfect for the occasional party host. Their stylish design makes them look great for any occasion or outdoor space.
